The case was dismissed because the Palmetto Partners sued before the deadline for getting their money back.  While they filed their lawsuit on March 26, 2009, the deadline under which they could get their money back was March 31, 2009.

Another inaccurate claim made by the Palmetto Partners was that a letter sent by the N.I.R. Group saying that funds were suspended for the “foreseeable future” showed that they were reneging on an earlier contract.  Instead, the court found that this was not true.  It said that the letter only “notified investors that, in light of market conditions and liquidity concerns, investor withdrawals were not being suspended for the foreseeable future.”

As the first and only day camp in the country designed for children with cancer, Sunrise welcomes children from the age of 3.5 to 16 to get away from their hospital stays and their feeling of confinement and to enjoy a camp experience.  The camp is offered free of charge to participating children and is funded by its generous donors and sponsors, and by events like the Sixth Annual Walk to Help the Sun Rise.

The Annual Walk includes three courses with 1 mile, 2 mile and 5 kilometer choices.  Walkers will enjoy being part of the fun, and those who don’t enjoy walking can sponsor walkers or making a donation.

The walk, held at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, will end with a fun filled Finish Line Celebration including food, games, crafts, pony rides and more.

Corey Ribotsky and CMF Leadership

The NIR Group, headquartered in Roslyn, Long Island with Corey Ribotsky as the Managing Member, is involved in a large number of philanthropic endeavors located in the Long Island and New York areas.

One of those beneficiaries of the support of the NIR Group is the Children’s Medical Fund of New York. This fund is a charitable organization which was created to support the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center (Schneider Children’s Hospital) which is located in New Hyde Park in New York.  The CMF helps to ensure that Long Island’s children as well as children from the greater New York metropolitan area have access to the best pediatric care which is available. This is achieved by raising funds to provide infrastructure and equipment as well as sponsoring the needed programs which make the Children’s Medical Center the most modern and successful children’s hospital that is possible.

When talking about investment management, one is referring to securities’ management (such as bonds and shares) as well as assets (like property) as a way of reaching the goals of their investors. Investors in this case, with the NIR Group, are often high net worth individuals, but could also refer to corporations and companies.

The new direction for Marathon, which was formerly called Pediatric Prosthetics, is in the wake of a ‘reverse merger’ and ‘going public’ in December of 2009, and is focused on growing the Company. Marathon was previously privately owned as a subsidiary of Marathon Health Care Corp. The N.I.R Group, in addition to providing the $100,000 in convertible debentures will also make available and additional $1 million line of credit for the company to further its goals of growth and expansion of Marathon.

The evening was hosted by literary agent Ed Victor, a leukemia survivor who explained that he feels he owes his life to modern research of the disease. The program was held at the Geffen Playhouse, and included an interview with Yentob, questions from the audience and film clips from Brooks’ works such as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and the television series Get Smart. Tickets for the event ranged from $100 to $250 for a personal champagne and dessert with Mel Brooks. All proceeds from the event went to support LLS.

LLS has thought of a creative, sweet way to raise money for cancer research and patient support; chocolate bars.  LLS offers boxes of 24 chocolate bars in two different flavors; milk chocolate with almonds and dark chocolate with raspberry. These boxes can be shipped to your home or directly to your workplace, where chocolate bars can be sold individually for a few dollars each. The proceeds are all given to support LLS and their ongoing fight with cancer.
