In 2009 the NIR Group announced that it opened a new office in Singapore so that the Roslyn, New York alternative investment firm would be better able to take advantage of investment opportunities which present themselves throughout Asia.
In June, 2009 Shoham Cohen was appointed to head the new Singapore office, reporting to Corey Ribotsky, the Managing Partner of The NIR Group. Mr. Ribotsky said the following about the new office head:
“Shoham has a proven track-record of growing businesses in Asia and we are confident he will do the same for us,” said Mr. Ribotsky. “His extensive local knowledge will be integral as we expand our presence.”
Mr. Cohen added,
“There are numerous opportunities to replicate what NIR has done so successfully in the U.S. and the investment community is looking for alternative investments that are truly non-correlated and provide consistent absolute returns.”
