If you’re interested in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, like Corey Ribotsky and so many others, one way to do so is with your bow tie. That’s right. Bow Tie Cause, launched one year ago by Dhani Jones, has partnered with 24 causes and sold over 5000 bow ties to raise more than $200,000.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Bow Tie that is for sale through their website was personally designed by Dhani Jones and his friend Kunta Littlejohn. Kunta’s battle with cancer led Dhani to create the bow tie. Dhani’s symbolism behind the design is quite personal. When Kunta was diagnosed, he thought that he was going to die. This is symbolized with the black base on the Bow Tie.

The silver lining on the Bow Tie shows the optimism they felt as Kunta began to improve. The red blood droplets on the tie are the logo for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Dhani Jones actually has quite an interesting background. Graduating from the University of Michigan with a custom-made major called Self-Representation, he has been a linebacker in the NFL and he owns a creative agency in NYC called VMG-Creative.

On September 27th, the famous Mel Brooks launched an event in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a cancer research and patient support organization which is supported by companies such as the NIR Group with Corey Ribotsky. Brooks worked alongside Creative Director Alan Yentob at the event.

The evening was hosted by literary agent Ed Victor, a leukemia survivor who explained that he feels he owes his life to modern research of the disease. The program was held at the Geffen Playhouse, and included an interview with Yentob, questions from the audience and film clips from Brooks’ works such as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and the television series Get Smart. Tickets for the event ranged from $100 to $250 for a personal champagne and dessert with Mel Brooks. All proceeds from the event went to support LLS.

LLS is supported by many organizations, such as the NIR Group with Corey Ribotsky.

LLS has thought of a creative, sweet way to raise money for cancer research and patient support; chocolate bars. LLS offers boxes of 24 chocolate bars in two different flavors; milk chocolate with almonds and dark chocolate with raspberry. These boxes can be shipped to your home or directly to your workplace, where chocolate bars can be sold individually for a few dollars each. The proceeds are all given to support LLS and their ongoing fight with cancer.

What’s even better, when you make your purchase with the coupon, 5% of your purchase will end up benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Certainly, this is one creative example of ways that businesses and individuals, like Corey Ribotsky of the NIR Group, and so many others, help to support the important work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

And that is why it is essential that people who care support such organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), as does businessman Corey Ribotsky.

This article talks about the much needed blood from donors and how donating blood can be one's way of contributing to victims of cancer, like Ribotsky does with his support of the Sunrise Day Camp.

Corey Ribotsky, supporter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is only too aware of just how important it is to help fight cancer. There are many ways of putting in the effort, as Ribotsky shows by being a supporter of the LLS. But if one wants to do something direct and practical which doesn’t take up too much time, donating blood could be a good way. A recent study from the American Red Cross found that over 38,000 blood donations per day are required. Many of these are used for cancer patients’ blood transfusions who are being treated with chemotherapy or recovering from surgery.

Importance of Blood and Cancer

Blood is probably one of the few medical aids that cannot be in any way artificially manufactured. That is why donors are so important. So if you feel you would like to support cancer patients and don’t know how or don’t have the time to work with a group like Corey Ribotsky does, then this might be the perfect way for you to get involved. Giving blood doesn’t hurt and doesn’t take up too much time; but the direct medical strength and support you will be giving to cancer patients, is absolutely unmatchable.

There are so many people who do amazing things with their minds and spirits in the name of helping others. The Georgia Chain Gang is one such group. This group, including Dave Armento, Frank Fuerst, Jerome Rossetti and Tony Myers will be riding in the 2010 Race Across America to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Efforts like these, and like LLS supporters like Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group make a huge impact in the fight against cancer. As part of The Race Across America, these riders will cycle from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland. Last year, when they took on this challenge, the team finished the race in 7 days, 8 hours and 19 minutes, while raising more than $80,000 for blood cancer research.

This is the type of energy that allows the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to do the amazing work that it does. Such dedicated people and groups, as the Georgia Chain Gang, Corey Ribotsky, the NIR Group and many others, make all the difference in the battle against cancer.

In recent news, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has launched a Monthly Giving Program. This program is intended to help with their fundraising efforts, as everyone understands that during economically difficult times, it becomes increasingly difficult to fundraise.

The Monthly Giving Program urges people to simply sign up to donate $25 a month, less than $1 a day, which will go directly to cancer research. Current donors of all sorts, such as Corey Ribotsky, certainly matter and make a large difference in the cancer research that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can conduct. Adding Monthly Givers to this list of steady donors will greatly help LLS to continue to get their important work accomplished.

Supporting this worthy cause is Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group, where he holds the position of managing member.

Supporting research which will eventually lead to the cures for lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, Lymphoma and melanoma is ultimately the best way to support the families with these devastating blood diseases. LLS hopes to make this dream a reality through funding research grants to investigators in research centers throughout the world.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society also sponsors continuing education for professionals in forums such as conferences, webcasts, meetings and teleconferences. These gatherings and discussions are geared towards a large variety of healthcare workers including physicians and researchers.

Corey Ribotsky is excited that he, along with the NIR Group are part of this important organization.
