Fashion’s Night Out to Help Heather on Earth Foundation

Tomorrow night, philanthropists, seasoned shoppers and everyone else should be ready for Fashion’s Night Out. This annual global initiative aims to celebrate fashion and to promote retail. Collections like Bal Harbour Shops in Miami will offer a portion of their earnings from Fashion’s Night Out to charities like the Heather on Earth Foundation where Corey Ribotsky is a donor.

Fashion’s Night Out at Intermix will include hosts Claudia Brod, Melisse Budin, Jordana Mesner, Lisi Port and Daniella Sredni. Participants are invited to enjoy champagne and light bites as they shop for the latest fall fashions. In total INTERMIX will have 13 different events in cities around the country.

Corey Ribotsky Supports Music as Medicine with Heather on Earth

Heather on Earth is a non-profit organization which was established in order to support and promote the use of music as a therapy in children’s hospitals across the United States and overseas. Corey Ribotsky, as the managing partner at the NIR Group, has been part of this organization’s role in making music one more form of medicine for children in their battle with illness.

Heather on Earth Music Foundation Fundraising Evening

The Heather on Earth Music Foundation recently hosted a fundraising evening called “Perfect Harmony” to raise money for their important causes and to honor those who contribute a great deal. Held on Tuesday, August 31^st 2010 at the Oheka Castle in Cold Spring Hills, New York, the evening was one of friendship, music and charity.

Honorees included the Goldfarb Family who were awarded with the Heather on Earth Award of Distinction; Heather McNamara and Rosina Scaccia who were awarded the Purple Heart of Courage Princess awards; and Dr. Joanne Laewy who was awarded the Special Music Award.

Certainly, all donors to the Heather on Earth Music Foundation, such as Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group, make a difference in helping them to fulfill their mission.

New Music Therapy Program

In recent news, the Heather on Earth Music Foundation has given a grant of $34,000 to the Winthrop-University Hospital to create a Music Therapy Program for pediatric patients. The idea behind the new program is to benefit children in Winthrop’s Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center and its Cancer Center for Kids.

The new program will be part of the Winthrop Child Life Program which works to minimize children’s anxiety and fear during their hospital experience. As AnnMarie DiFrancesca, Director of Winthrop’s Child Life Program explains, “The addition of a music therapy program will provide a unique alternative coping mechanism through which children may express their emotions, cope with their illness, and master their own hospital experience.”

The Heather on Earth Music Foundation is grateful to be able to provide this service, thanks to their many donors including Corey Ribotsky and others.

Through his support of the Heather on Earth Music Foundation, Corey Ribotsky, as the managing member of the NIR Group of Roslyn, New York, helps relieve some of the fear, pain and suffering of seriously ill children and their families.

Because music reaches into the inner being of people, including children, music is able to inspire, relax, calm and distract the consciousness so that peace can be experienced.
Not only does this help pediatric patients emotionally to better cope with their situation, this inner peace can strengthen the immune system, decrease the perception of pain, reduce anxiety and improve cooperation with medical procedures and care givers.

The gift of music that Heather on Earth bestows, with the much needed and appreciated support it receives from Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group, is a true gift which improves the quality life of children and their families.

Heather on Earth Receives Support from Ribotsky at NIR Group

The Heather on Earth Music Foundation, a unique support organization for young patients and their families, receives much appreciated help from Corey Ribotsky’s NIR Group, where he is the managing member.

By bringing the joy of music to children challenged by the crisis of serious illness, some of the pain, fear, and anxiety they and their families are experiencing is ameliorated.

Heather on Earth was founded in the memory of Heather Samone Fessler. She passed away in September, 1985, and since this tragic loss much joy has been bestowed on pediatric patients through music in her memory.
