The Onyx and Breezy Foundation, where Corey Ribotsky serves as a Foundation Member, is an organization whose purpose is to ‘provide financial support to credible organizations that benefit the welfare of animals.”

In order to raise funds for their cause, Onyx and Breezy organizes events, one of which took place last March in Florida. The First Annual Onyx and Breezy Foundation Island Gala was one of those special events which was organized to help animals on the island of Sanibel. On hand were more than 150 people, including the founders of Onyx and Breezy, Mark and Wanda Shefts, Corey Ribotsky of NIR, his wife Stacey, and many others.

The Men’s Divison of the CMFNY

The Children’s Medical Fund of New York, where Corey Ribotsky is the president, has a number of ways for people to get involved. The Men’s Division raises over a million dollars each year for the hospital programs, technology and research. They have an Annual Golf and Tennis Charity Classic each year in June and a Steaks and Sticks event to raise money as well.

The Men’s Division works tirelessly throughout the year to raise awareness about CMF and to raise funds for children’s health services. Their membership costs $5000, which allows you to be a member for five years. The membership benefits include a press release about your membership, invitations to CMF events, a company listing on the Corporate Alliance invitations, special rates to the various Men’s Division functions throughout the year and more.

A membership is a great way to give back to the community and to help children in need.

Walking to Help Kids with Cancer

So far, two months before the event, The Sunrise Day Camp Sixth Annual Walk to Help the Sun Rise has raised $83,995. This event is scheduled for June 5, 2011 to help children with cancer and their siblings. Certainly, every dollar raised by sponsors and donors like Corey Ribotsky of the NIR Group, allows more children with cancer to enjoy the Sunrise Day Camp experience.

As the first and only day camp in the country designed for children with cancer, Sunrise welcomes children from the age of 3.5 to 16 to get away from their hospital stays and their feeling of confinement and to enjoy a camp experience. The camp is offered free of charge to participating children and is funded by its generous donors and sponsors, and by events like the Sixth Annual Walk to Help the Sun Rise.

The Annual Walk includes three courses with 1 mile, 2 mile and 5 kilometer choices. Walkers will enjoy being part of the fun, and those who don’t enjoy walking can sponsor walkers or making a donation.

The walk, held at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, will end with a fun filled Finish Line Celebration including food, games, crafts, pony rides and more.

Touching Gift to Children’s Medical Fund of NY

The Children’s Medical Fund of NY, where Corey Ribotsky of the NIR Group is the President, was recently very appreciative of Eric Chipman. As the son of CMF Trustee Richard Chipman, Eric decided to celebrate his bar mitzvah with a donation to the Children’s Medical Fund of NY. He donated a portion of his bar mitzvah gifts to this worthy cause, and followed in his parents’ example by doing so.

As the Children’s Medical Fund of NY explained, “This is a perfect example of children helping children.”

Every donation that the Children’s Medical Fund with hard working people like Corey Ribotsky receives helps them to help children. The trustees and the staff of CMF gave a hearty thank you to Eric for his lovely donation.

They presented Eric with a CMF achievement award for his contribution.

Corey Ribotsky, Winter Wonderland and Sunrise Day Camp

Sunrise Day Camp is one of several philanthropic organizations to which Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group lends support. Last December 4th Sunrise held a fundraiser which was called “Sunrise…on the Rocks.” The event was a ‘Winter Wonderland to Benefit Children Cancer’ and took place at The Vice Room at the 13th Step Lounge in Manhattan. Mel Brooks Supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

On September 27^th, the famous Mel Brooks launched an event in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a cancer research and patient support organization which is supported by companies such as the NIR Group with Corey Ribotsky. Brooks worked alongside Creative Director Alan Yentob at the event.

The evening was hosted by literary agent Ed Victor, a leukemia survivor who explained that he feels he owes his life to modern research of the disease. The program was held at the Geffen Playhouse, and included an interview with Yentob, questions from the audience and film clips from Brooks’ works such as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and the television series Get Smart. Tickets for the event ranged from $100 to $250 for a personal champagne and dessert with Mel Brooks. All proceeds from the event went to support LLS.

A Sweet Fundraiser: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is an organization which works to cure blood cancers, as well as to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. LLS is supported by many organizations, such as the NIR Group with Corey Ribotsky.

LLS has thought of a creative, sweet way to raise money for cancer research and patient support; chocolate bars. LLS offers boxes of 24 chocolate bars in two different flavors; milk chocolate with almonds and dark chocolate with raspberry. These boxes can be shipped to your home or directly to your workplace, where chocolate bars can be sold individually for a few dollars each. The proceeds are all given to support LLS and their ongoing fight with cancer.

Having a Ball for Sunrise

The Sunrise Day Camp is one of the jewels of New York. The Camp, operated by the Barry and Florence Friedberg JCC, provides boys and girls aged three to sixteen with a wonderful summer experience each year, packed with all the activities and events that every child wants, in a framework that these unique children can enjoy.

Sunrise also provides a range of programs throughout the year that fill the emotional, social, recreational and physical needs of young people dealing with the multiple challenges of cancer. That’s why donors like Corey Ribotsky of NIR Group, and the many supporters who enjoyed the Harvest Ball on October 16^th, 2010, fill such an important role in enabling Sunrise and the Friedberg JCC to continue their important work for New York’s children with cancer. While enjoying a fabulous evening of good food, music, dancing, and great auction and raffle prizes, attendees of the Ball got the chance to honor members of the JCC family and to benefit the important achievements of the JCC and Sunrise.

Golf & Tennis Charity at Children’s Medical Fund with Corey Ribotsky

June 14th, 2010 was a great day for the Children’s Medical Fund of New York. On this day, they hosted their 35th annual Men’s Division’s Golf & Tennis Charity Classic. This event has raised over a million dollars each year since its inception. This year, the proceeds benefited the Pediatric Orthopedic Program at the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York. Help at the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, the evening honored Sue Schonfeld for her donation of $500,000 to the Children’s Medical Fund of New York.
